Marley is now Samson. He loves his crate now. At night we just have to say night night Sam and he runs right in and lays down. Every moring he waits for his big sister Delilah to run in and try and open the crate to get him out so they can go out in the snow and play together.

I want to say thank you to Samson/Marley’s old family for taking good care of him. He is a great addition to our family and he is very loved. His sister Delilah has been great in helping train him. They are the smartest dogs. Delilah thanks you too for the new playmate. They are never far from each other.

Marley is not a happy camper about his crate. He has had a real bout of whinning this morning. Wants to be out with me all the time which is natural. I am just trying to ignore it. I am following the Monk’s plan to put him in after breakfast, potty, and lots of play and let him rest until mid morning. Marley disagrees with that plan decidedly!! It would be so easy to sweep him up in your arms and spoil him terribly. Don even said maybe I should let him sleep with me. I told him I want to do this right this time. I am a terrible dog spoiler and I am trying to learn a new way to handle a puppy and to give him a healthy beginning emotionally. You have given me such a good start with the Monk’s books. Thank you for not only selling us the dog but educating us as well. It will pay big dividends we know.

An update on Marley–we had a wonderful trip home. He slept the whole way and was such a sweet boy. When we got home we played with him and he ate supper. He is doing his “go potty” well. And he was so good last night. He let me sleep until 12:30 a.m. and we did potty. Put him back to bed and he slept until 6 a.m. He is so smart. Has learned to do the steps to go outdoors already. He really understood quickly about whinning in his bed. We have never had a dog that is so smart. And he is so loving. We are just so pleased that he is a part of our family. Marley is a real joy. You have done a wonderful job in getting his life started. Thank you so much for all you did to furnish the foundation for his little guy.
